The beta-titanium tube, which is strong, flexible, and light, is provided with our uniquely designed slits processed by laser machining, so that a tube of 6 mm in diameter can be formed flexibly.
The new Beta-titanium Flexible Tube is an epoch-making product, featuring excellent applicability with higher flexibility and bending characteristics as well as superior strength, which is an advantage of titanium.
Comparison among beta titanium, titanium alloy, and stainless steel metals in physical properties
Beta titanium has the advantages of titanium, which are light weight (in comparison) and high resistance to corrosion, and also features high strength (high tensile strength) and superior spring characteristics (low Young's modulus), satisfying various needs.

Compared with stainless steel (SUS), titanium is a high-performance material, featuring light weight, high strength and high corrosion resistance.
High-strength beta titanium has been used in many fields recently. Our original technologies succeeded in producing beta titanium with shape stabilization characteristics. Futa·Q produced shape-stabilized beta-titanium tubes, which are evaluated highly.

Futaku had bending tests of beta titanium tubes and SUS316 tubes under parallel shift and perpendicular weighting.

Unlike beta-titanium tubes, SUS-316 tubes are not shape-stabilized. SUS-316 tubes were bent in both tests (the shape was not restored).

Beta Titanium Spiral Pipes
You can see an expanded image.
Futaku's highly anti-corrosive, strong, light and flexible beta titanium pipes can be provided with spiral grooves by means of fine laser machining technology.
This technology is used to produce stents as well. The slit width and pitch of the beta titanium spiral pipes, which realize outstanding flexibility in handling, are adjustable, so that different-level flexibility and spring property can be provided in individual sections.
Stents

You can see an expanded image.
Stents are used to connect catheters, which are typically used in the treatment of angina and cardiac infraction. Futaku uses laser machining to produce stents.
In production of stents, the machining width can be as small as 20 micrometers. Laser machining realizes complicated, fine shapes, which are impossible with regular machining technology.

In 2010, powered by size AA rechargeable EVOLTA batteries, Mr. EVOLTA attempted a 500 km run between Tokyo and Kyoto, while being recharged once a day, and completed the trial successfully.
Mr. EVOLTA was developed by Mr. Tomotaka Takahashi(ROBO-GARAGEePresident), a robot creator and the CEO of Robot Garage Co., Ltd. Mr. Tomotaka has been involved in the robot project since the first trial. He visited us last year.
Mr. EVOLTA, who completed the long run, incorporates our beta-titanium tube. Our technologies supported his successful run, behind the scenes.
